Roderic Rennison’s whole career has been spent in financial services, encompassing a variety of roles ranging from sales, sales management, strategy, product development and proposition and latterly, corporate activity together with regulatory focus (specifically, the RDR).

Between December 2004 and June 2008, he was a main board director of The Thinc Group, and his responsibilities included co-ordinating the merger between Thinc and Destini, working with the board and CEO to finance the Group, and subsequently the sale to AXA in late 2006. He also was actively involved in product sourcing and technical matters as well as Due Diligence in connection with acquisitions and risk related matters. 

He chaired the Professionalism and Reputation Workstream of the RDR in the first half of 2007 and has been active in the debate that has followed the publication of the Discussion Paper in June 2007. He is a member of the CII’s Professional Standards Board.

Prior to joining Thinc, Roderic was Group Financial Services Director of Bradford & Bingley between 2001 and 2004. Between 1998 and 2001, Roderic was retail director of Mercury Life, latterly Merrill Lynch Pensions, and was a director of the unit trust subsidiary. Between 1987 and 1998, he was with Robson Rhodes, the chartered accountants, now a part of Grant Thornton, and was an equity partner responsible for the financial planning subsidiary and employee benefits.

Roderic is a Non Executive Director of Home of Choice and his own consulting company, Rennison Consulting. He has a particular interest in the future shape of the retail financial services sector as well as the challenges of financial planning for clients at, and post retirement.
